Dolores Claiborne, Chapter 1
I've read the first fifty pages and decided that will be the first chapter because I haven't found the chapter number. There are no chapters I think because its not a regular book with regular chapters.

In the first fifty pages, shes explaining her story to the cops. She says that she killed her husband twenty years ago. She said when she moved to the island, she worked for someone named Vera. She was a house cleaner. She said that she didn't like her, either and that she was mean. She says that she would fire you if you made a mistake three times. Even though Dolores thinks that Vera is mean or grouchy, they still act as friends. When she worked for her after her husband 'died' They both knew that Dolores killed him. Vera's children never ever visited her because Dolores thinks they are not too fond of her, either. She still feels bad for Vera because children should always be nice and loving to their parents even when they are in bad conditions. Vera was in bad conditions because all of her bones were achey and she was getting older. She and Dolores had been fighting and she knew that Dolores killed her husband so Vera was scared a bit that Dolores would kill her, too. But in the pages, Dolores doesn't do anything but does threaten to do it because they kept fighting. But she really doesn't do anything to her and still helps her around in her wheel chair.
